Kolkata Tour Package - FAQ
The number of days you should spend in Kolkata depends on your itinerary and what you want to see and experience in the city. However, I would recommend spending at least 2-3 days in Kolkata to get a good feel of the city and its culture. Here's a rough itinerary for a 3-day trip:
The best time to visit Kolkata is during the winter months from November to February when the weather is pleasant and dry. The temperature during this time usually ranges from 10°C to 26°C, making it perfect for outdoor activities and sightseeing.
During the winter months, the humidity levels in Kolkata are also relatively low, which makes it more comfortable to explore the city's many attractions. This is also the time when Kolkata celebrates its famous festivals such as Durga Puja, Diwali, and Christmas, which adds to the city's vibrancy and cultural charm.
However, if you're looking to avoid the crowds and get better deals on hotels, you might want to consider visiting Kolkata during the monsoon season from June to September. During this time, the city experiences heavy rainfall, which can be a hindrance to outdoor activities. But if you don't mind the occasional showers, you can still enjoy the city's indoor attractions and explore the beautiful rain-washed streets.
Avoid visiting Kolkata during the summer months from March to May when the temperature and humidity levels are high, making it uncomfortable to explore the city.
Planning a day trip in Kolkata can be an exciting adventure! Here are some steps to help you plan your day:
Decide on your itinerary: Research the top sights and attractions in Kolkata and choose the ones that interest you the most. Make a list of the places you want to visit and the activities you want to do.
Choose your transportation: Determine how you will get around Kolkata. You can choose from a variety of transportation options, including taxis, buses, trams, and the metro.
Plan your timing: Decide what time you want to start your day and when you want to return. Keep in mind the opening and closing times of the places you want to visit, and the duration of the activities you have planned.
Check the weather: Be sure to check the weather forecast for the day you plan to visit Kolkata. You may need to adjust your itinerary or bring appropriate clothing and accessories.
Prepare for meals: Decide where you want to have your meals and make reservations if necessary. Kolkata is known for its street food, so be sure to try some of the local specialties.
Consider a guided tour: If you want to make the most of your day trip, consider taking a guided tour. This can be a great way to learn about the history and culture of Kolkata while visiting the top attractions.
Pack accordingly: Finally, make sure to pack any necessary items for your day trip, including sunscreen, a hat, comfortable shoes, and a camera to capture the memories.
With these tips, you should be able to plan a fun and memorable day trip in Kolkata. Enjoy your adventure!
